Africa's home for young techies. We teach kids across Kenya to imagine, build, break, and refine real technology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our learning paths cover primary school through secondary, roughly Grade 1 through Grade 12. We pace each child individually, so a curious 8-year-old and a careful 12-year-old can both thrive in our Foundations track. We don't sort kids by age. We sort by what they're ready to build.
No. Most of our students have never written a line of code before they start. That's the point. Our Foundations track is built for first-time coders. We'll meet your child wherever they are.

Not free, and that's intentional. We charge a one-time Ksh 1 trial fee for two reasons: it filters out unserious bookings, and it protects our instructors' time so the families who do show up get an instructor who's actually prepared for them.

The fee is non-refundable. But if you enroll in the full program within 7 calendar days of completing the trial, the full Ksh 1 is deducted from your first month's fee. So for families who go on to enroll, the trial is essentially free. Book a trial here.

A laptop or desktop computer, a stable internet connection, and a quiet spot at home for class. We send setup instructions before the first session. No special software to buy. Most of what we use runs in the browser.
Classes run between 45 and 60 minutes. You choose the frequency that fits your family: 1 class per week or 2 classes per week. Both options use the same curriculum, just paced differently.
Classes run on our own learning platform, the Teckid Kenya LMS. Your child logs in there to join class, see their projects, and work between sessions. No third-party video tools to install.

Every class follows the same four-part rhythm built around our methodology, Imagine, Build, Break, Refine:

5 minutes of recap and questions. 15 minutes of instructor illustration. 30 minutes of building the project. 10 minutes of debugging and testing. The shape is the same every week so kids know what to expect.

1-on-1. Every class is your child and their instructor, no other students in the room. We made this choice deliberately so the pace can bend around your child instead of the other way around.
Life happens. Let us know in advance and we'll reschedule that week at no extra cost. If something comes up last-minute, we'll work it out. We don't punish kids for missed weeks.
Three ways. You'll get a monthly progress report from us in plain English (no jargon). You'll have access to your child's project portfolio, every project they build, saved and visible. And you can sit in on any class. The work itself is the truest signal that they're learning.
Yes, anytime. We don't believe in black boxes. You can sit in on any class without notice. Most parents do it once or twice early on and then check in occasionally.
Once a month. Plain English, no jargon. We tell you what your child built, what they struggled with, what they're getting good at, and what's next. If something is wrong, we tell you that too.
Yes. You can pause your subscription at any time and resume when you're ready, without losing your child's progress or starting over. Burnout is real, and forcing a kid through it would defeat the whole point.
You're billed monthly based on your enrollment plan (1 or 2 classes per week). No long contracts. No setup fees. You can cancel or pause at any time.
Yes. Switch up or down anytime. The change takes effect from your next billing cycle. Tell us a week ahead so we can lock in the schedule.
